This is why the community should demand school spending data down to the school level. But, this is hard work and we will not do it.

So shortchanging poor schools will continue.

BTW alumnus Col. (Ret) Richard Toliver to appear locally


A Black History Month program will be given by Booker T. Washington alumnus Col. (Ret) Richard Toliver, USAF.

The program and book signing will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Bossier Parish Library Historical Center.

The center is located at 2206 Beckett St., Bossier City, LA.

Call 746-7717 for more information or if you plan to bring a group of 10 or more.

District-At-A-Glance and School Report Cards

The Louisiana Department of Education recently held a summit in Baton Rouge, La for new school board members. I have previously posted a link to the press release. From there you can access the materials used during the summit.

In addition, the materials included a document called District At-A-Glance. I am now posting a link to that document. BTW alums will be interested to see important stats about BTW and other schools in the district. Information such as test results, enrollment figures, etc are available in this document.
